Smart Grids will transform the power grid, using new technology to reduce the cost of using and delivering electricity, integrate clean renewable energy such as wind and solar power, communicate interactively to respond to changes in supply and demand, create new green jobs, give consumers and businesses more control over their energy use, and improve the reliability and efficiency of the entire power grid system.

The Department of Energy has recently announced that it will spend $3.9 billion in funding for Smart Power Grids in the coming years. Join NJTC for a discussion of Smart Power Grids in New Jersey and the Mid Atlantic states and how this upcoming technology offers unique opportunities for our region.
